Superintendent’s Message

September 29, 2008

Welcome to the Sedona-Oak Creek Unified School District. I am very excited and honored to have been chosen by the Governing Board to be the third Superintendent of this school district and provided the opportunity to lead this district through some exciting times ahead. Sedona-Oak Creek has a rich tradition of educational excellence as well as a very positive reputation throughout the state. The support the schools enjoy from the community is so much appreciated. I sincerely hope that support is never taken for granted.

The motto for this school year is “Behind Every Great School is a Great Staff!” We are fortunate to have high achieving schools with hard working, dedicated, and caring staffs. We must all work in collaboration to insure the best possible education for every child of the community. I hope you take the opportunity to explore the renovated district website. This is one of our tools used to effectively communicate valuable information with students, parents, and patrons.

I look forward to meeting each of you and hear your impressions of our schools and district as well as your suggestions on how we can improve what we do. That is our never-ending challenge.

Thank you so much for the way I have been received into the district and community.

Mike Aylstock
Superintendent
